Powys Arts Month  – October

Y Dolydd / The Workhouse,  Llanfyllin

Y Dolydd is a magnificent example of an historical building being used by the local community for arts, culture and educational purposes.

We have workshops housing local arts, crafts and business people.

There is a café, bar, bunkhouse and camping available.

Dyma ni / We are here so come and share music and munchies with the launch of Powys Arts Month at Y Dolydd

Resident Y Dolydd artists including :-

Liz Neal – Just back from her solo show in Brazil, her work combines elements of painting, sculpture and embroidery.

Bob Guy – Current work is dialogue between traditional craft and digital media

John Eddy – Work exploring the physical spatial tensions of sculpture with the visually immersive depths of colour-field painting.

Jo Munton – Sculpture melded with wordsmithery

Sylvantutch – with Ash and Alex, making reclaimed furniture.

Ritchie – Instrument making and woodworking

Sue Dolman -  Spinning, Dying and Weaving

Stuey – Woodworking

 

Residents Workshops.

Reiki practitioner Jean Cape using John Eddy’s artwork as a starting point for meditation

Thursday 6th, 13th and 20th- – All Treatments half price so treat yourself to a Reiki session, an Indian Head Massage or Acupressure.

Sunday 23rd – An Introduction to Reiki Healing £20 for the day.

Monday 24th – Artistic Meditation 2pm £3.50

Saturday 15th -  National WaterAid Ceilidh

Come and support WaterAid and Y Dolydd with band ‘CANOL’ and caller. Starts at 8pm. £5 on the door.
