Garden of Light set to illuminate Workhouse Christmas Market
This years Christmas Market at the Workhouse in Llanfyllin on 3rd Dec 2017 will be even more special as we will also be celebrating our Garden of Light.
To celebrate the end of our year long Wilding the Senses project in collaboration with Arts Connection the building and gardens will be illuminated from dusk. Visitors will be able to follow a trail of lanterns and lights around the gardens, taking in the features and improvements added throughout the year by the project. There will also be FREE family activities including shadow puppet performances by Tell-A-Vision, storytelling and drumming by the fire with Helen East and Rick Wilson, light painting with Ben , lantern making with Dewi Morris and face painting with Sam Key.
The kitchen will be open serving hot food to keep us warm and you’ll be able to enjoy a mug of mulled wine or homemade spiced apple juice from our own apple press too.
The Christmas Market will be open from 12.00 as usual. It is a collection of crafts, local artisans, knits, candles, fancy goods, toys and much more. Also, Santa will be visiting the children during the afternoon and we are hoping to include some carol singing.
The FREE Garden of Light Celebration begins at 4pm until 8pm, when we will be parading our lanterns back to the memorial garden and dedicating it to all who have lived and loved the Workhouse.
