A Heritage Open Day and Food Fair at Llanfyllin’s historic Workhouse on Sunday 9th September 2019. A chance to see one of Britain’s best preserved Victorian workhouses, under restoration by a community trust and home to a range of creative enterprises. The Food Fair will showcase the best in locally produced food and drink with a wide range of produce available to sample. Cookery demonstrations throughout the day. Live music by the Oswestry Jazz Orchestra, harpist John Browne and cabaret ensemble Cafe Lola. Exhibition of work by professional artists Connor and Harriet Lee-Merrion. Guided tours; ‘Before and After’ presentation; display on the restoration of The Master’s House. Workhouse History Centre open with film and family trail. Open studios including model railway, leather working, textile upcycling, artist. Bookshop, varied refreshments. Open 10.00 – 5.00.
